You must be at least 18 to hold an account and buy tickets. Where you provide details about other attendees for a booking, we use those details only to fulfil that booking.
2 The data we collect
Depending on how you use On Tick, we may collect:
- Identity and contact details, such as your name, email address, phone number, and billing address.
- Account and booking information, including your login details and the tickets and events you buy or register for.
- Payment information. Payments are handled by our payment provider. We keep records of your orders but do not store full card details.
- Communications, such as messages you send us and our replies.
- Technical and usage data, such as your IP address and how you use the platform, collected through cookies (see section 5).
3 How we use your data
We use your personal data only where the law allows. In particular, we use it to:
- process your orders, issue tickets, and manage your account, and take any payments due (to perform our contract with you);
- send booking confirmations, tickets, and service messages about your order or an event (to perform our contract, and our legitimate interest in keeping you informed);
- provide customer support, keep the platform secure, and prevent fraud (our legitimate interests, and legal obligations);
- send marketing where you have agreed, or where you are an existing customer and we are telling you about similar events (consent, or legitimate interests). You can opt out at any time; and
- meet our accounting, tax, and other legal duties (legal obligation).
4 Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where needed, with: the organiser of an event you book, so they can deliver it (for third party events, the organiser is a separate controller under their own privacy notice); our payment provider and the service providers who help us run the platform, such as hosting and email delivery; professional advisers; and authorities where we are required to by law. If our business is sold or reorganised, your data may transfer to the new owner, subject to this policy.
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place so your data remains protected.
5 Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to make the platform work and to understand how it is used. These fall into a few groups: strictly necessary cookies that the platform needs to function, such as for logging in and checkout; and optional analytics and marketing cookies that help us improve the platform and our advertising, which may include third party tools.
We ask for your consent before setting optional cookies. You can change your choices at any time through our cookie settings, and you can also control cookies through your browser. Blocking some cookies may affect how the platform works.
6 Storing and protecting your data
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy and to meet our legal duties. Order and payment records are normally kept for up to seven years to meet tax requirements, and other data is kept while your account is active or until it is no longer needed. When we no longer need data, we securely delete or anonymise it.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and restricted access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
7 Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to certain uses (including direct marketing), to data portability, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within one month, and exercising your rights is free in most cases.
8 Contact and complaints
To ask a question, exercise a right, or make a complaint about how we use your data, contact us at [email protected].
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would welcome the chance to address your concern first. We may update this policy from time to time, and the date it last changed is shown at the top of this page.
